Up up up! Andy Hazell
“Up up up! has been a challenging commission, both technically and aesthetically, with a horrifyingly long list of constraints. But it has also been a rare opportunity to make a large-scale dynamic piece using new technologies.”
Up up up! Andy Hazell
Up Up Up! is designed to ease the route upstairs, making it fun and memorable for children. Composed as a ‘bubble tower’ with more than a thousand LEDS (light emitting diodes) pulsing coloured light, the installation spans both ground and first floors.
Proximity sensors responding to families moving into the entrance lobby send the lights in the tower through the ceiling to the floor above, tempting children to follow.
