Louise Gardiner

I am a fast and figurative artist who drives a Bernina sewing machine like an Aston Martin!

My stitched illustration combines the exciting and spontaneous medium of free machine embroidery with my love of drawing. I create fun illustrations, which derive from my continuous observational drawing of the people out and about on the streets and the animals I observe on our farm in Cheshire.

The quirky and speedy nature of the machine stitch helps me to capture the movement of eccentric characters and to depict intimate moments that are of a frivolous nature - both real and imaginary.

My work is intended to make the viewer smile and celebrate the idiosyncrasies of everyday life.
