Leading the Way was a programme of integrated public art commissions and artist residencies specially devised to enhance the new Gloucestershire Royal Hospital. It ran from 2002-2005. The resulting artworks transform the new building and show the energy and imagination of the eighteen high calibre artists who worked with more than 500 staff, patients and local children.

“good health is about more than the absence of disease and…the arts can play a valuable role in the healing process by supporting the physical, emotional and spiritual wellbeing of patients.”
