Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust was formed in 2002 when East Gloucestershire NHS Trust merged with Gloucestershire Royal Hospital NHS Trust. The new Trust comprises Gloucestershire Royal Hospital, Cheltenham General Hospital, Standish Hospital, Tewkesbury and Winchcombe Hospitals, Wheatstone Day Hospice and Delancey Assessment and Rehabilitation Hospital.
The Trust provides a comprehensive range of general acute hospital services to the population of Gloucestershire and parts of neighbouring counties. Gloucestershire Hospitals NHS Trust employs more than 7,000 staff including 490 medical staff, 2,295 nursing staff, 757 therapists, diagnostics and scientific staff; and 1,518 ancillary, administrative and support staff. Over the course of a year the average activity for the Trust is more than 20,000 elective inpatient cases, 57,000 emergency inpatient cases, 49,000 day cases, 424,000 outpatients' attendances and 116,000 A&E attendances.
